Pride Glasgow

‍Pride Glasgow  is an annual event and march for the LGBT community, which is hosted in the city centre. In 2016 Pride Glasgow had a competition to create a social media and print campaign for potential visitors to Pride. I'm glad to report I won this competition.

The Idea

The tagline for the event was ‘#Gaunyerselfie so the idea I had was to showcase a variety of LBGT individuals taking selfies of themselves, and their friend,s in a fun and friendly environment. Just like you would do when posting a selfie to instagram or any other Social Media platform.

This would invoke a fun and friendly atmosphere which these Pride events create. The day always revolves around friends, family and fun.Since the tagline was all about taking selfies then the concept was for me to travel around the city with mycamera and take photos of the LGBT community from all different backgrounds and cultures which are displayed in Glasgow.

This would appear as if they were taking a selfie of themselves. I would then showcase them in various designs. I also wanted a font that had a handwritten and almost graffiti nature around it to showcase the organic concept.

Cool Fonts

I ended up going for LeviReBrushed, which to me succeeded in showcasing this handwritten feel. The other typeface used was EXO 2, which is the official Glasgow font and had to be used in the designs. I also stuck with the traditional colours of the LGBT flag, which are always bright, colourful and can stand out in most places.
